Every town needs a good takeaway, infact, it could be argued that a town without somewhere to get a decent curry is not a town worth visiting (well, of course we at Totally Locally would never suggest such a thing, every town is worth a visit, it just helps you see). Well, West Bridgford are of course in safe hands with indian nights, they’ve been going 10 years strong and as Gary Barlow once wisely noted, ‘things can only get better’ even just when you thought they couldn’t get any better, there’s talk of expanding the business with a sit down restaurant!
It’s a family run business that has always been renowned for the quality of its food and hunger for innovation. “We were the first take-away in Nottingham to be collection only,” says owner Naqeeb Najeeb. “Ten years ago, all the other take-aways had greasy carpets and were not very welcoming. What we did was very different. We offered customers refreshments whilst waiting for their food in what was, and still is, like a lounge with a really nice atmosphere. You can see through to the kitchen, a lot of people like the open effect.
“We knew there was a demand for a high quality Indian take-away in West Bridgford. Our family has a restaurant in Keyworth and, before we opened here, people from here used to come in all the time. We don’t do gimmicks and special offers, we do outstanding food. “The high standard of his cuisine has meant Naqeeb, 32, has been able to attract customers not only from West Bridgford, but all over Nottinghamshire
As a serious contender for some Totally Locally brownie points, they are fully aware of the power of word of mouth and positive feedback: they have never advertised, its simply a case of people tasting the food and telling their friends. Like a game of dominoes but way more tasty. And Naqeeb has built good relationships with neighbouring businesses.“Some of our fruit and vegetables come from The Fruit Basket on Gordon Road and our flowers in our waiting area are from Slades on Melton Road. It’s nice to help other local shops.” Never a truer word spoken!
“We do catering for events and we have loyal customers who remember us and book us for weddings and birthday celebrations. We also offer barbecue packs in the summer containing marinated meats, salad, dips and naans.”Naqeeb believes indian nights has an exciting future in West Bridgford.“We’d like to expand and maybe have a sit down restaurant here as well as the take-away.” Well, this sounds like our kind of business plan!
